Massive paws left the trail of the behemoth for only mere seconds before the water lapped away any sign he had been there. His feet were soaked in the salty seawater, but he didn’t seem to care. Regal footsteps brought him ever so closer to his new home. Home? Where was his kingdom? Where were his followers? His people? Lip curled away and he shook his enormous head to throw the thoughts from his cranium. Foolish pigs. That’s all they had been. Worthless. Unfaithful. Disloyal. It hurt him much more than he had thought. Obsidian limbs propelled him further along the beach, a large ear flicking at the canaries that chattered in the brush, silencing when they spotted the monster that stalked so eerily by. Tail flicked, and he let loose a low guttural growl. The yellow birds took to the skies, crying out in alarm to signal the others of the threat. A crooked grin came to his handsome features as argent gaze watched the sunkissed avians scatter. Russet build moved silently along the beach, he knew he was close to his new lands, but so far he hadn’t caught a single scent from… any wolf at all. This concerned the prince.

It wasn’t long before the fragrance that marked the pack border wafted on the breeze to greet the male. He paused his ever monotonous pace to think, wondering if he should let his presence be known to his pack mates, or to wait and familiarize himself with the island first. Coal nose twitched before he turned to face the vast ocean while thoughts pondered this new dilemma. If he let his presence known, he worried that others would come, and not just acknowledge they knew he was here. So, for now, the boy kept his lips sealed. Instead he let his mind wander along with his eyes. The day had been unusually warm; considering. The breeze had been pretty constant throughout his travels, brushing against his face, and keeping his frame from becoming overly heated. He didn’t mind the heat anyways; growing up in the desert had kept him partial to the heat rather than the cold. With that thought, he was about to turn to continue his journey to his new home- but something stopped him; pulled him to stay where he was. The easy tug from the water washing over his paws made him take a single step further into the waters. The sun was beginning to cast everything in brilliant crimsons and tangerine hues. The ocean itself was beginning to mirror the looks of an open flame. Again his lips were tugged into an alluring smile, his feet remaining in the surf while stormy gaze wandered the horizon.

Boredom had once again propelled her to come here and the unsatisfied need for adventure let loose the youth within. Rui wasn't sure if she can fascinate her pack mates afterwards with her stories but there's still some others who would wag their tails off to hear it. Reiko had been a rather prime example of that though she had her own input on where the story should go. To her, every single ending is a happy one. A few months ago Rui would had agreed with her. Nose on the work like a satellite picking up signals, the sniffer had carried her to Canary Stretch again-an island near her pack and the most secluded of them all. The lost beach seem to be forever forgotten by the denizens and even it, too, seem lonely like a real thing. And here, Rui had met some awesome scenery of the sky at night. So she had decided on surprising her pack mates with an outing in a few days. Of course, she had let slip of a pack event and asked some close friends of hers to invite loners and other wolves from friendly packs as well. The only thing that's left is luck itself; who knows whether if the sky would be clear that night?

Nails clicked lightly as the long-limbed alphess pressed forward, her ears constantly shifting at the sound of waves slithering by. There's not many things in her head right now, at least, not anything pressuring but perhaps she's not the sort to be stressed at all. Even though her pack numbers were sparse, the activity level isn't fluctuating at all. As Rui neared a good destination to stop herself she noticed a new sight that sorely stood out from all the rest. Immediately, bright pink eyes lit up as she noticed that the stranger was a maned wolf like herself almost. Without thinking, Rui walked up to him and asked Hey there Someone, are you looking for something? A little knot tied up within her heart, seeing such a wolf within her pack borderlands. There's still hope that this man was looking for a pack or maybe here just to make friends. Of course, something also whispered to Rui about his true intentions deep inside....

The lulling affect the waves had on most, didn’t work on him. Stormy gaze remained on the setting seaside, while auricles shifted to find the incoming footfalls of another. Odd, he knew he had thought about calling out to let the pack know he was close, but he thought he had decided against it. Thinking back; he knew he had. So this wolf, who continued to move towards him, was here on its own accord. His lips pulled down in a frown, before falling blank as the wolf came close enough to see his features. Skull swung towards her and his body followed suit, paws splashing in the waves as he moved. Silver lenses scanned the feminine figure. The woman was young, not a pup anymore, but not quite as old as the boy. She was attractive, of maned wolf descent, for the most part. She spoke up and for a moment he just stared at her, with the blank expression still showing on his handsome face. “Elian,” he corrected with his three syllables. Not ‘Someone.’ Alluring baritones let the word come out bemused rather than cold. Ears remained on the woman, wondering if he should answer her further or let her wait in silence until he wished to speak up again. It wasn’t until her scent came to him did he look up again with a new light in his eyes. She was of Seren Llwyd. Head tilted to the side, and the boy offered a devilish smile. Well, that changed things.

Vocal chords vibrated, his diaphragm pushing out the words with ease, “I’m looking for the Alpha of Seren Llwyd, I wish to join the pack.” An ear flicked, his eyes never straying from the pretty face in front of him. His words were slightly flat, but he put effort to keep the coldness from creeping in. He didn’t need to scare her off now, did he? Russet pelt shifted as the breeze doubled back and hit him from behind, though he didn’t mind the breeze, he didn’t like how vulnerable it left him to take his sense of smell away. The silence that now accompanied the two was comfortable, as words usually just screwed things up for the prince. Stormy hues were wandering from the woman and back to the ocean in slight boredom, though it wasn’t the woman’s fault. It was just how he was. She was much smaller than he, so as he looked away, he pulled his chin up to level his head while turning his neck to watch the sea. Unbeknownst to him, it gave the girl a chance to either compose herself or take a better look at the king in front of her without his knowing. He didn’t think about things like that, things that benefitted others. Not unless he got something better out of it.

The stranger didn't seem too happy at her 'nickname' for him. Then again, nobody does now that she came to understand this. Yet Rui always needed something to call any creature she's met, and "You" just doesn't work at all! Despite his initial words hinting towards dislike, the man called Elian seem to be quite well in nature. There's no show of teeth or a stance nodding towards defense or attack. The only regretful thing is that there were no one to accompany her, that way she may feel a bit more comfortable. Back then it had always been Theodore's job to greet but now she's the alpha and so the duty will fell upon her shoulders. Rui studied him for a while, making sure there wasn't an inch of suspicion lying within his matted fur. She had gotten quite well understanding the appearance of another, no thanks to a special few. Relaxing her own muscles a bit, the young youth smiled after Elian's comment. No stranger will know that she's the sole alpha as of now. And not even the neighboring packs would. Slightly tilting her chin, the youth replied I am the alpha, the Bolidess of Seren Llywd. She then smiled at him, trying to seem as welcoming as possible.

Then, she walks forward until a gap of about two feet stood in between them. Elian is super tall, unlike her, but he's also delicate looking and a bit off in colors. Maybe she was used to the usual blacks, creams, whites, and whatnot of other wolves; or maybe she's only known herself as the sole maned wolf around here. Therefore, her heart made her want to jump a bit and do a small dance around him as her way of welcoming this new member. Or maybe she can just ask her pack members to greet him here. There's certain kind of elegance about this man, on which made her wonder about his heritage. Where did you come from, Elian? Rui then asked, curious. She wondered if he had come from some sort of pack which had disbanded, or he had simply left. He could have been a run away or a rogue; seeking a refuge in a faraway place.

She didn’t wait long to answer his question, though as his ears caught the words, eyes travelled back to meet hers, brow rising as he assessed the alpha. Who knew? Perhaps she had some deadly move, for she was surely much too delicate and young to be mastering a pack? He said nothing, though lowered his head in a sort of bow. She spoke again while his was bringing his head back up into alignment with his spine, and he noticed she had shimmied a few steps closer to the russet prince. Where had he come from? The boy drew in a breath, his chest expanding as he did so. How to explain his old kingdom? Where his parents had been rulers of such a mighty pack. Exhaling, he shook his head, “A land very far away, very different from here.” Stormy gaze held onto her rosy pools for a moment longer, not quite sure what he was looking for, he dropped it. The water that kept lapping at his paws was starting to bother him, so he took a few steps up the shore where the sand was still damp, though the tide had receded enough so he needn’t worry. Pushing his haunches to the sand, he let loose another sigh. Eyes wandered before landing on the woman, he hadn’t noticed what he was doing before he was already staring. Dropping his eyes again to his feet, the prince stood up to dismiss himself and leave. He was making a fool of himself.

He cleared his throat, about to deliver the words that would excuse him from the conversation, but his lips started forming different syllables, and instead he found himself asking her, “And you?” Brow raised with the question, but he let loose a charming smile while ears pricked forth to listen for her answer. If she was to be his alpha, he would want to know about her. Nevertheless, he would’ve eventually asked the question. She was interesting, if not her coloring alone, the way she carried herself. It made him want to know why she was the way she was. Tail flicked as he remained standing, eyes wandering over the plains of her cheeks and along her frame, though it didn’t come to look as though he was sizing her up, or evaluating her. No; he was quick to look her over and come to appreciate his new company. Siding against leaving, the boy took a step closer before sitting back down to wait out the conversation.

Elian is a quiet one, something Rui once thought boring. But now, he served as a rather peaceful reminder of the quiet days in her life-one where she's just a subordinate. Even now Rui thought she was an underling after a night's sleep, but when she opened her eyes up everyone where paying their respects to her in some way. Things change, so Rui's sure she can get used to it. Elian answered after a sharp intake of breath from his end, the moment of which had Rui studying him more and more. He's such a mysterious soul so now she wander if she can really speak to him without sounding passive and distant. The land he came from must be somewhere not in the land she were born, because every wolf she encountered had always been rugged in some way and appearance. Well, save for the folks from Sanctus Regnum, they were pretty regal to begin with. Seeing Elian move snapped her attention back, the girl wanting to converse in a more steady flow than ever now that she had decided his worth. Plus, who would want to see a dull Alpha? Smiling a little, the youth said are you a royalty of some kind? maybe a prince? Her eyes widened in interest as she started to let her mind wander again, imagining a royal Elian with a golden crown stuck on top of his head. It would definitely slide down his cranium because of how big it must had been. But there were no signs of an indent anywhere on his head at all!

I'm a native of this land, Mr. Elian. A pup like chirp came out of her mouth as one fond memory of her pup months came into her mind. Aah, those were the true good old days of her life! At first, Rui had thought he would had gone away by now, seeing how most of anybody would just leave when she begin reminiscing the past or start making up stories. But as Rui's eyes peered closer, she noticed that Elian had indeed stayed put in his position. A relief washed over her and now, a certain optimism also came. Indeed, he may as well had been the few who had enjoyed her company. The coywolf mixed hybrid then begin to think about her pack, seeing how it desperately needed some members to keep the others happy. However, Elian's quietness may not be what she had hoped to. Maybe she will need to instruct new members on the way of the storyteller, a secret assignment she really want to test out. Umm, have you ever told a story to anyone before? I can tell you a story of the places around here. Knowing herself, Rui's sure that if she had told it the fact would only be 50% and the rest all fiction. Since he seem so new and fresh around here the alphess may as well give him a vocal tour of the land in her own way.

Her question startled him, and he jerked his gaze back up to meet her soft pink gems. Sharp, stormy lenses watched her carefully; only to find that she was genuinely curious. At first, he wasn’t sure how to answer, or react. Softening, he cleared his throat gently before looking out towards the waves. It was much more difficult than he thought- to talk about the past. After a moment, he finally spoke up, “Yes, actually.” Unfortunately, the words came out clipped, and cool. Drawing in another breath, he quickly tried to cover up the cold reply. He struggled to find the words for too long, so instead settled with a charming smile, hoping she would think him being just proper. Relaxing as much as he could, which wasn’t much, the boy settled his sights on the woman, this time really looking at her. She was interesting. He knew she couldn’t be full maned wolf because of her warm hues. Her mahogany accents and creamy pelt made it apparent. But still, he couldn’t stop watching her. Her animation made another smile flicker on his lips. Brows rose towards the sky as she continued to feed him information about herself; another smile pulling at his lips, making his handsome features lighten up.

Her question had him thinking, but before he could answer, she pressed on, making the boy close his mouth. An ear was flicked towards her, but he refrained from speaking for a few moments waiting to see if she was done speaking, or if she would continue on. With the silence, he offered a hesitant smile before lips parted to speak, “I have my dear, but first let me hear a story of your own.” Haunches buckled to kiss the sandy ground. Tail curled around his paws as he settled in for the tale. Her features had him fascinated, so while he waited for her to tell the story, the boy leaned forth just a tad in anticipation. .

She had thought he would dismiss her words and go on to something else. As such, Rui wasn't prepared but was flattered at the same time to hear such a comment. Never had someone older want to hear a story coming from her words and for this reason she had only ever engaged in small talks with young ones. The chance of a lifetime to spread her joy and fantasies came now, but what sort of story should she tell? Thinking back, Rui realized that her pack had a rich history of stories to be told. Whatever the reason, it is basically a part of this land. But there were also other packs here as well, so it would be fair to include them all as well. They were all instrumental in the creation of land's history. Letting out a soft hum, the youth then places her haunch softly onto the ground and said,
"In the old days, there were many warring lands led by powerful alphas and their underlings. Despite the superficial peace, the many packs scattered across the land were hiding an immense tension against one another. There isn't alliances, only animosities. Hence, all alphas instructed their members to kill loners on sight, fearing that they may be spies. Though they tend to kill more than they invite, there were some who were able to become part of the ranks. And it was these newcomers who had truly seen what their higher ranked pack mates cannot see: a boring war. Even though the alphas had declared that, there were no absolute fighting so some called it a fake war. But as the newcomers work up their ranks and gained the respect of many, the eventual tension between the packs dwindled. Alas, some of the once lower wolves became alphas of their pack and the fake war between the warring lands finally came to an end.."

Taking in a few deep breaths, the youth then returns her gaze to Elian, sheepishly smiling at him in a toothy grin. Hopefully, this had convinced him enough that this land was a cool and fun land for adventures. Just like how she had decided it was back in her days. For some reason though, Rui noticed that he had seem closer than usual. Maybe she was hallucinating, but the gal could see a hint of fascination within Elian's eyes. Blinking a bit, she try to look away. Sometimes, she think that maybe it would be creepy of her to study other's gaze. Either way, her mouth ran dry and the moment the sound of the waves came her throat ached for something to drink. Keep still Rui, you can get a drink from a lake-but NOT an ocean.
